Softball Recap: Canton Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Canton was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 15-2 to the Dunlap Eagles. The Little Giants have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Makaylynne Correa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Dunlap, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will take on Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Little Giants' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Dunlap, they will face off against Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are on a nine-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
