Baseball Recap: West Broward Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Broward walked away with it. They never let the Southwest Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Eagles on Wednesday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Braden Aguila tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lenny Sufran was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

West Broward is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-10 record.

West Broward will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
