Soccer Game Preview: Royal vs. Moorpark

Royal hasn't had much luck against Moorpark recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Royal Highlanders will square off against the Moorpark Musketeers at 7:15 p.m.

Royal fell victim to Oak Park and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to the Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moorpark). They put the hurt on Simi Valley with a sharp 8-0 win on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Musketeers considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

They hit Simi Valley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brady Conyers (3), Mattheo Sipaque (3), Sebastian Alvarado, and Jonathan Flintoff.

Moorpark's victory bumped their record up to 10-1-4. As for Royal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13-3.
