League recap: Blind Brook stuns Yonkers Montessori Academy in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Yonkers Montessori Academy, who took down 543rd ranked Yonkers Montessori Academy, 14-12.

Pedro M. Cueto of Rye Neck ran for the longest rushing play in Section 1 C/D this season against Pawling last week. Cueto's team beat the Tigers as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 96 in all.

Tom Pipolo and Cueto gave Rye Neck a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Dom Brescia also contributed to the rushing game with 97 yards on the ground.

Pipolo and Cueto gave Nick Ianello's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Pipolo put up the best numbers through the air as the Panthers topped Pawling. He finished with 4 completions for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Cueto was the best running back in the league this week.

Wilkin Mercado was the best wideout in the league this week as Yonkers Montessori Academy lost to Blind Brook. Mercado racked up 2 receptions for 56 yards.

An important game coming up in Section 1 C/D this week will be when Woodlands takes on Bronxville. At the moment, the Falcons are in first, while the Broncos are in fourth.

Bronxville scaled the state rankings by moving to 169 from 230 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jeff Napolitano's team was able to make move up by defeating Tuckahoe 7-0.
