Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo Cougars vs. Phillips Bears + How To Watch

The Waterloo Cougars will square off against the Phillips Bears at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waterloo has three straight wins, Phillips has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Waterloo will bounce into Friday's game after beating Cherokee, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Indians by a score of 58-47 on Tuesday. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Dane Morris went supernova, shooting 62% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Gallagher, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Phillips came up short against Berry on Tuesday and fell 62-50.

Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Waterloo, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Waterloo against Phillips when the teams last played back in November, as the squad secured a 55-25 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
