Soccer Game Preview: Franklin County vs. Lord Botetourt

The Franklin County Eagles will head out to square off against the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Franklin County fell victim to Northside and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 5-0 to the Vikings. Franklin County fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Northside since on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Lord Botetourt came up short against Fleming on Friday, falling 4-1. The loss continues a trend for Lord Botetourt in their meetings with Fleming: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lord Botetourt's goal came courtesy of Isaac Alderman, who's now up to eight this season.

Franklin County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10-2 record this season. As for Lord Botetourt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Franklin County might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Lord Botetourt in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
