Volleyball Recap: Maryvale Wins Going Away Against Camelback

Maryvale won the last time they faced Camelback and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers blew past the Spartans 3-0.

Maryvale walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-19.

Justin Gaxiola paced Maryvale's offense, picking up 20 kills. Gaxiola got some help from Jhonthan Garcia and his 15 assists. Garcia was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Maryvale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Camelback, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Looking ahead, Maryvale will square off against South Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Camelback will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' game: after the Panthers faces off against Browne, they'll take on Camelback again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
