Softball Recap: Amelia County Takes a Loss

If Amelia County was riding high fresh off their 19-1 takedown of L.C. Bird on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Lunenburg Central Chargers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Amelia County's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Lunenburg Central, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Amelia County will square off against rival Cumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lunenburg Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Nottoway at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
