Softball Recap: Byrd Comes Up Short

Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Natchitoches Central Chiefs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 17-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Natchitoches Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Byrd will host Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Natchitoches Central, they will welcome Grant at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Natchitoches Central's pitchers better be ready for this one: Grant has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
