Baseball Recap: Canyon Lake Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Canyon Lake's win against Bandera wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Canyon Lake skirted past Bandera 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for Canyon Lake as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Carter Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Michael Anderson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gram Simpson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

The win was the third in a row for Canyon Lake, bringing their record up to 21-11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bandera, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14-1.

Looking ahead, Canyon Lake will take on Fredericksburg at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Canyon Lake are facing the Billies at the right time seeing as the Billies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Bandera does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
