Volleyball Recap: Desert Mountain Comes Up Short

Desert Mountain lost against Chaparral on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wolves took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Firebirds.

Ava Archibald paced Desert Mountain's offense, picking up nine kills. Archibald got some help from Ayana Conklin and her 12 assists. Conklin also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Riley Sokolow, racking up two apiece.

Desert Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Chaparral, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Desert Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Northwest Christian on the 20th. As for Chaparral, they will square off against Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Firebirds are facing the Pride at the right time seeing as the Pride are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
