Volleyball Recap: Whitney Beats Golden Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Whitney rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Golden Valley Cougars 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Whitney was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-12.

Whitney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Roeker, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Roeker has posted since back in March. Muhe Chang also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Whitney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.

Whitney pushed their record up to 15-19 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Golden Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 22-17.

Looking ahead, Whitney will welcome Grant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pacers will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Golden Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
