Basketball Recap: Old Plank Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Old Plank Christian Academy lost against St. Joseph Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders were outmatched by the St. Joseph Academy Flashes and fell 70-24. The Defenders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.

St. Joseph Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Raymond Evans out in front who posted 11 points along with five assists and three steals. Evans is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elia Hanania, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Old Plank Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for St. Joseph Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Old Plank Christian Academy will take on Covenant School of Jacksonville in a tournament on Friday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Global Outreach Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Joseph Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
