Baseball Recap: Carlsbad Gets the Win

Carlsbad proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the McKinney Boyd Broncos 7-6.

Hunter Dawson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Ayden Mu?oz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Blake Snow was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Carlsbad's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for McKinney Boyd, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Carlsbad will be taking part in a tournament against Argyle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for McKinney Boyd, they will take on Alamo Heights in a tournament on Saturday.
