Recap: Connersville Spartans vs. Lawrenceburg Tigers

If the Connersville Spartans were riding high off their 56-13 takedown of the Hagerstown Tigers on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Connersville fell just short of Lawrenceburg by a score of 45-42. Connersville lost against Lawrenceburg in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-37 score last time.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Jones, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Hailey Sembach, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Lawrenceburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamryn Ferreira led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Ferreira set a new season high mark in steals with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Craig, who scored 18 points.

Connersville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lawrenceburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Connersville will square off against South Dearborn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lawrenceburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Milan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Milan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
