Recap: Fultondale Wildcats vs. Midfield Patriots
The Fultondale Wildcats suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Midfield by a score of 68-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Armonie Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Franklin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Riddle, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fultondale's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Midfield, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Fultondale will be playing at home against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Grove has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. Midfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Shades Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jeremy Chatman and Franklin.
