Football Recap: Copperas Cove Comes Up Short

Copperas Cove dropped to 6-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They were beaten by the Midway Panthers 56-26. The Bulldawgs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

As for Midway, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Lathan Whisenton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 237 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew McNair, who threw for 190 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes.

As of now, neither Copperas Cove nor Midway have any future games scheduled.
