Recap: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings
If the Orleans Bulldogs were riding high off their 62-41 takedown of the Springs Valley Blackhawks on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Orleans fell just short of Barr-Reeve by a score of 40-37. Orleans was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Barr-Reeve apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Orleans' lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Allen, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. Allen is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Alston, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Barr-Reeve was led to victory by Seth Wagler and Donnie Miller. Wagler scored 13 points, while Miller scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Barr-Reeve's points.
Orleans' defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Barr-Reeve, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Orleans and Northeast Dubois will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will head out on the road to face off against Springs Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Springs Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Barr-Reeve is ranked 99th).
