It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bayard Rustin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Unionville Longhorns. The Golden Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Mace Britton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Britton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Bayard Rustin let Nate Lewis and Jackson Roche run wild. Lewis scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Roche scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Lewis also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dan Giordano, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Bayard Rustin's record now sits at 4-2. As for Unionville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Bayard Rustin will face off against Henderson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Knights are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Unionville, they will square off against Avon Grove at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
