While Owensboro Catholic's win against Greenwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Owensboro Catholic skirted past Greenwood 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Aces, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Myles Grant looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Barrett Evans, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Christopher Burns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Owensboro Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Owensboro Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Greenwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owensboro Catholic will challenge Naperville Central at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenwood, they will take on University Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greenwood 1.8, University Heights 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
