Baseball Recap: Shoals Takes a Loss

Shoals extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They came up short against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps, falling 16-0. The Jug Rox were not able to make up for their loss to the Jeeps from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Northeast Dubois, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6. The result was nothing new for the Jeeps, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Northeast Dubois' part, they got a great performance from Caleb Lampert as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Lampert a new career-high.

At the plate, Brycen Mroz was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keyton Jones, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Shoals will host Dugger Union at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeast Dubois, they will venture away from home to square off against South Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
