Garfield Heights had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They walked away with a 58-45 win over the Archbishop Hoban Knights. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Archbishop Hoban's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Greer, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds, and Kenny Scott, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Greer's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. James Mccarthy was another key player, putting up eight points.

Garfield Heights' victory bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Archbishop Hoban, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-6.

Looking ahead, Garfield Heights will challenge Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on March 16th. Garfield Heights is on a 25-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Louisville a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Archbishop Hoban does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
