St. Michael came tearing into Thursday's contest with 13 straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sandia Prep Sundevils with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Horsemen also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

St. Michael's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sandia Prep to exactly 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-17.

St. Michael's offense was headlined by Larissa Rodriguez and Casey Bowen, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Emily Villanueva and her 17 assists. Rodriguez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

St. Michael's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Michael's will venture away from home to challenge Pojoaque Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandia Prep, they will head out to square off against Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
