Softball Game Preview: Murray Tigers vs. Crittenden County Rockets

The Murray Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Crittenden County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Murray is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Murray lost 16-1 to Marshall County on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Murray saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shia McNutt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Crittenden County's offense. They came up short against Ballard Memorial on Friday, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rockets have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crittenden County fell to 2-1. As for Murray, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Murray came out on top in a nail-biter against Crittenden County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Murray since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
