Basketball Game Preview: McCurtain Bulldogs vs. Spiro Bulldogs

The McCurtain Bulldogs will head out to take on the Spiro Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

McCurtain is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Webbers Falls, posting a 69-32 victory.

Meanwhile, Spiro had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 52-29 margin over the Wolverines. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Wolverines are ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McCurtain is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Spiro, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

McCurtain came up short against Spiro in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 61-51. Can McCurtain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
