Baseball Recap: Mathis Comes Up Short

Mathis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-4 to the Refugio Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 12-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Mathis' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Refugio, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Mathis will head out to face off against Poteet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Refugio, they will be playing at home against Stockdale at 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.
