East Knox will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Tree of Life Christian extended their winning streak to six on Thursday. The Trojans came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Northside Christian. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Tree of Life Christian wouldn't go down easily and took Northside Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 28-26, 19-25, 23-25, 15-9.
Meanwhile, East Knox hadn't done well against Cardington-Lincoln recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since September 14, 2024.
East Knox was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-103), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 17-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-11.
Tree of Life Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for East Knox, their victory bumped their record up to 3-19.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's contest: Tree of Life Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.9 aces per game. However, it's not like East Knox struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
