Softball Recap: Crab Orchard Find Success

Crab Orchard is still undefeated this season after their game against Marissa on Saturday, but Marissa came as close as anyone has to beating them. Crab Orchard came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Marissa. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 2, 2024.

Jada Burnett-Hatton spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aubrey Holmes was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Crab Orchard's win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Looking ahead, Crab Orchard will challenge Frankfort at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Frankfort will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Crab Orchard surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marissa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
