Paul VI came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Canfield Cardinals, falling 10-4. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Anisa Noorani put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Noorani wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Drawbaugh, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Paul VI's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Canfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season.

Paul VI will take on Austintown-Fitch at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Canfield, they will face off against Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
