Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mount Dora Christian Academy

Mount Dora Christian Academy posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over the Mount Dora Hurricanes. The victory was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Katie Bayly was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Presley Miller, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Hallie Edwards was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Mount Dora Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Dora only posted a batting average of .267.

Mount Dora Christian Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for Mount Dora, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
