Basketball Recap: Floyd Central Highlanders vs. Heritage Hills Patriots
On Saturday, the Floyd Central Highlanders were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the Heritage Hills Patriots. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Floyd Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landon Reed went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reed has scored all season. Logan Young was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
Heritage Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andersen Smith out in front who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Prior, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
Floyd Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage Hills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Floyd Central and Providence will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Floyd Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Heritage Hills, they will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
