Valdez and Kenai Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Valdez had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Kardinals by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Valdez actually scored more points across those five sets (103-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 12-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-11.

Valdez's defeat dropped their record down to 44-12-1. As for Kenai Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 38-16-5.

Valdez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kenai Central, they will face off against Nikiski at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
