Quentin Williams tied the Florida state record Friday night with his 100th career touchdown pass as unbeaten
Jefferson (Tampa, Fla.) routed Land O'Lakes (Fla.), 54-19, during the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder fired touchdown passes of 62, 37 and 17 yards to senior receiver
Chris Moore for an even 100 scoring strikes during his outstanding career. He totaled 277 yards on the night.
The record first was set by Will Indianos of Oak Hall (Gainesville, Fla.) in 2008.
The previous week, Williams passed for 502 yards and six touchdowns as the Dragons crushed Plant City (Fla.), 63-21, to set a regular-season state record with 530 points.
Williams told the
Tampa Tribune, "It's a great accomplishment, but I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about getting that state championship."
The Dragons (11-0), who have their best record in 35 years, play unbeaten
Pasco (Dade City, Fla.) next week in the regional quarterfinals.
