Volleyball Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. O'Connor Panthers

Stevens is 0-10 against O'Connor since September of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Stevens Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the O'Connor Panthers at 5:30 p.m.

Stevens is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They fell 3-1 to Sotomayor.

Stevens took a 1-1 lead headed into the third set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-12, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Meanwhile, O'Connor had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Huskies 3-0.

While O'Connor won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-11.

O'Connor can attribute much of their success to Miranda Clark, who had seven digs and two aces, and Olivia Pena, who had six digs and 12 assists. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Pena now posted eight or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for O'Connor, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Stevens suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to O'Connor when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Can Stevens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
