Basketball Game Preview: Linn County Mustangs vs. Brashear Tigers

Linn County is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Brashear Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Linn County will be strutting in after a victory while Brashear will be coming in after a loss.

Linn County picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They took down Hale 55-38. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lexi Kiel was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Harlow Miller, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Brashear kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 45-29 fall against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris.

Linn County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Brashear, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Linn County took a serious blow against Brashear when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 54-10. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
