Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Wheatland-Grinnell's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Wheatland-Grinnell's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays by a score of 2-1. The Thunderhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blujays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2017.

Wheatland-Grinnell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelsie Bland, who had ten digs.

Wheatland-Grinnell's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheatland-Grinnell will take on Goodland at 3:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they will face off against Rock Hills on Tuesday.
