Recap: McQueen Lancers vs. Reno Huskies
The McQueen Lancers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They slipped by Reno 33-32. The win was just what McQueen needed coming off of a 63-37 loss in their prior game.
McQueen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leah Nisenfeld, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and eight steals. Nisenfeld has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Caitlin Hilson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Reno lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natalia Schettler, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Schettler also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yolanda Reyes, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
McQueen's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Reno, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McQueen will take on Douglas at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Reno, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Galena at 5:15 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Galena focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday.
