Football Recap: Stanton Piles Up the Points Against Westside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stanton). They claimed a resounding 33-6 victory over the Westside Wolverines. The Blue Devils not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.

Aiyanna Smiley looked great while leading her team to the win, rushing for ten yards and two scores, while also throwing for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Stanton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Lyric Cromity and Laila Cromity, who racked up all four sacks between them. Catherine Brewer got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Stanton's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Westside, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westside, they will square off against Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Wolverines' offense will have their work cut out for them.
