Recap: Holbrook Roadrunners vs. Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets
There's no place like home for the Holbrook Roadrunners, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Blue Ridge by a score of 49-39 on Saturday. Given Holbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Blue Ridge is ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holbrook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Tapaha, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tapaha has scored at least a third of Holbrook's points. Chase Salabye was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Holbrook has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Blue Ridge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Holbrook will head out on the road to take on Show Low at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Show Low's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Blue Ridge, they will be playing at home against Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Miami has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 23.
