Jasper (Mo.) grabbed the lead when
Matt Stump ran for a touchdown with 11:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Pleasant Hope (Mo.) 29-15 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured three lead swaps.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown, the Pirates went into halftime with a 8-6 lead. The Eagles took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Stump in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Jasper still trailed by three points going into the fourth quarter. But 15 points in the fourth helped JHS pull out the victory.
The Eagles went into the matchup giving up only 15.0 points per game.
A 27-6 Jasper victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
