Recap: Middleton Tigers vs. King Lions
The Middleton Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 36-7 win over King. For Middleton, this counts as revenge for the 35-7 defeat King walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middleton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryan Hunter, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Hunter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Xavier Mccullough, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for King, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middleton will take on Sumner at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. Sumner presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Middleton in Florida (Sumner is ranked 77th, while Middleton is ranked 417th). As for King, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
