Volleyball Recap: Carlmont Falls Despite Big Games from Jonathan Edwards and Hean Ng

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Carlmont and Burlingame, and Burlingame kept the tradition alive. Carlmont fell just short of Burlingame by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Carlmont sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12.

Carlmont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hean Ng, who had 21 digs and one assist, and Jonathan Edwards, who had five digs. Ng is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Carlmont's record now sits at 7-5. As for Burlingame, their record is now 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Carlmont will face off against rival San Mateo at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Burlingame is set to take on their familiar foe Hillsdale at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
