Basketball Game Preview: River View Raiders vs. Tug Valley Panthers

River View and Tug Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the River View Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Tug Valley Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. River View has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matchups.

On Friday, River View ended up a good deal behind Greenbrier West and lost 71-56.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaci Hatfield, who posted 18 points. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chasity Kennedy, who scored 16 points.

Meanwhile, Tug Valley entered their tilt with Ripley on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They secured a 41-37 W over the Vikings. The 41-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tug Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for River View, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

River View beat Tug Valley 52-44 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Tug Valley's Bailee Hall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 25 boards.
