Basketball Recap: Yonkers Takes a Loss

Yonkers's game on Friday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 50-35 bruising from the Port Chester Rams. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Port Chester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophia Faraci led the charge by going 9 of 21 on her way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Faraci a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Gagnon, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Yonkers' defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Port Chester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Yonkers is taking a road trip to take on Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Port Chester, they and Fox Lane will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
