If South wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Salina Central, they should've done a better job of containing Kamryn Jones. The Salina Central Mustangs slipped by the South Cougars 55-54 on Saturday thanks in part to Jones, who went 7 of 15 en route to 17 points and three steals. His morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaeden Nienke, who posted nine points. Those points were his first of the season.

South lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jace Humphrey, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and six boards. Easton Willcox was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Salina Central now has a winning record of 6-5. As for South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Salina Central will welcome Andover at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Andover will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Salina Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for South, they will challenge Haysville Campus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
