Softball Recap: Montabella Comes Up Short

Montabella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the McBain Ramblers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Montabella's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for McBain, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Montabella will square off against White Cloud at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.56 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. McBain has already played their next match (against Roscommon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
