Preview: North County Knights vs. Southern Bulldogs
The North County Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North County is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, North County had to suffer through a rough 68-30 loss at the hands of Annapolis. While losing is never fun, North County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Annapolis is ranked 51st).
In what's become a running theme this season, Southern gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Northeast 70-30 at home. Southern's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
North County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Southern, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
North County took a serious blow against Southern in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 66-30. Thankfully for North County, Jordan Wheeler (who scored 13 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
