Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Wildcats vs. Booker T. Washington Warriors

The Hamilton Wildcats will square off against the Booker T. Washington Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton's offense hasn't had much luck over their past four matches, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hamilton is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hamilton was beaten by Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering 50-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Phoenix are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Booker T. Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Soulsville 51-23 on Thursday. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Hamilton better keep an eye on Antaniya Britt. She was instrumental in Booker T. Washington's win, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Britt a new career-high in steals (eight). Another player making a difference was Markira Rogers, who posted 11 points.

Booker T. Washington was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Booker T. Washington, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-8.

Hamilton beat Booker T. Washington 42-35 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Hamilton repeat their success, or does Booker T. Washington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
