Volleyball Recap: Otsego Knights vs. Eastwood Eagles

After flying high against Maumee on Tuesday, Otsego came back down to earth. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastwood Eagles on Thursday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Otsego couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 26-24, 21-25, 25-20.

Kayla McCabe paced Otsego's offense, picking up 15 kills. McCabe got some help from Cassie Bunde and her 40 assists. Bella Simon controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Eastwood found their leader in sophomore Stella Cheblowski, who had 25 digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Cheblowski.

Otsego's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Eastwood, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-6.

Otsego does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Fairview on the 11th.
