Soccer Game Preview: Herriman vs. Salt Lake Academy

The Herriman Mustangs will square off against the Salt Lake Academy Griffins at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Herriman comes in on five and Salt Lake Academy on three.

Herriman's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They skirted past Bingham 1-0. The game was the first time Herriman have beaten Bingham on their pitch since May 22, 2018.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Salt Lake Academy sidestepped Corner Canyon for a 2-1 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Salt Lake Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Corner Canyon are ranked 47th).

Braylon Brock and Issac Ortiz scored both of Salt Lake Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Salt Lake Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Herriman, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
